The Porsche Automaker Company is the manufacturer of 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. It has continued to produce designer sports cars for the world market. It’s one great innovation that was accepted by different societies across the world is the 1955 Porsche. The sports car was first launched in Paris Motor Show in 1953. The name Spyder an Italian name was added to the car to describe it being open, light and having two seats nature.

 The sports car come in a 1500cc engine which a cylindrical dimension. The engine can give out a horsepower of 135. The speed is, therefore, fantastic. It has a manual gearbox of five speeds, with a chassis weighing 1120 pounds and a suspended torsion-bar. The 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder is the first car made with sports in mind. For this reason, it has participated in many international competitions world over.

The sports car is indeed a state of the art innovation. It can be used both as a racing car and as a road car. It comes in different shades. They mainly use the silver color for the sports car, and the other predominantly used colors are blue, white, and yellow for the road cars.

The 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder raced in Nurburgring Eifel Race in May 1953. That year it won the race. It is among the first cars to get a race sponsorship by the Fletcher Aviation Company. Since then, many different drivers have used it in United States and European Racing competitions. In these races, the drivers have finished in the top three coming second to their close competitor the Ferrari. It has a powerful engine that propels the car at supersonic speeds.The engine has made everything possible in the world events. In 1954 Hans Herman, a professional car racer drove the 1955-Porsche-550-Spyder and came third behind the Ferrari. It was a great debut for the company in international sporting arena.

Apart from sports, the car has also had success in the world markets. At one time, it recorded an amazing sale of $3.7 million this was historical for the company in an auction with the Gooding & Co. Amelia.

The car will forever be linked with one Hollywood star James Dean. James has an insatiable love for speed and racing. Due to his success in Hollywood he could easily afford a car modify it and upgrade it to suit his desires. Unfortunately one time he met his untimely death in an accident with the car that claimed his life.
