The Donkervoort D8 GTO “Bilster Berg Edition” ‘2015 was unveiled in January 2015 by Donkervoort, a Dutch company. The model is a major improvement to the D8 GTO model which won the 2014 German Blister Berg circuit race.
The Donkervoort D8 GTO “Bilster Berg Edition” ‘2015 uses an Audi turbocharged 2.5-litre five-pot engine and attains 380bhp at 5500rpm.
This model has new features that distinguish it from D8 GTO. They include less weight, which was significantly reduced from 785 kilograms to 685 kilograms to give the car more speed. The suspension has also been significantly strengthened with Intrax shock absorbers and a roll cage designed to provide added structural strength. The new design enables the car to move from 0-62 meters per hour in only 2.8 seconds.
The chassis is made largely of kevlar and carbon fiber and the roof is made of fabric. The interior is made of beautiful leather which has attractive exposed carbon.
This is a limited edition car. The company said only 14 units will be produced and the price will be 194,000 Euros (US$210,000).
