What is the SRS Light and How to Fix it? | Prettymotors

The growing number of road accidents was the reason why car manufacturers started introducing more safety features in the car. Some very fatal accidents indicate that only a seatbelt cannot help prevent a person from contacting serious injuries. This is why most of the cars these days come with airbags.

If you own a Honda accord, you will know how serious the company is with regard to the safety of the occupants of the car. The car is equipped with quality airbags that inflate in case of a collision. To indicate the proper functioning of the airbags, an SRS light on your dashboard is installed.

What is SRS Light?

People who have recently bought the Accord often ask ‘what is SRS light?’ It is the abbreviation for supplemental restraint system, and it includes all airbag-related components such as the inflation unit, SRS modulator, inflation unit, wiring, and impact sensors. The light normally comes on when you start your engine and diminishes instantly. However, if the light comes on again during your journey, it indicates that there is a problem with your car.

Generally, the light will indicate that your airbags system is malfunctioning and your airbags will not deploy in case of an accident. This means that you have to rush your car to the local mechanic to get your airbags fixed. This SRS warning light is a way through which the built-in airbag system of your car notifies you about a possible malfunctioning of the system.
